Seminar Held on “Why Businesses Fail”

Press Release: Bahrain 14 October 2015

Bahrain Polytechnic hosted a seminar at the campus on “Why Businesses Fail: Understanding the Ingredients for Crafting and Fine-tuning Strategy”, delivered by Dr. Constantine “Dino” Kiritsis on behalf of ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants).

The two hour seminar, held for students in the Business School, comprised of an inspirational and interactive discussion on how big companies find it difficult to sustain their business.

Additionally, he spoke about how he favors entrepreneurs and encourages the students to take risks when starting their own business.

Bahrain Polytechnic’s Programme Manager of Accounting, Mr. Namasiku Liandu, who awarded the guest lecturer at the end, stated: “It is great for our business students to have this opportunity of learning the critical business success factors from a real entrepreneur and seasoned international trainer and speaker; we are privileged to have Dr ‘Dino’ with us today.”

Acting CEO Dr. Mohamed Al Aseeri commented: “Inviting experienced guest speakers is a great way to share real life business problems, eventually leading to a discussion on how to overcome them. This will train the student to avoid mistakes throughout their career journey".

Dr. Kiritsis speaks about entrepreneurship during his lecture, which is what the Polytechnic encourages its students to practice."

I’d like to thank Dr. Kirtsis and ACCA for their time and support, and would like to thank the staff involved in organizing this event, as we strive to meet the government action plan 2015-2018 and the Bahrain 2030 Vision.” concluded Dr. Al Aseeri.

A Complimentary Webinar will be delivered by Dr. Constantine 'Dino' Kiritsis on the 7th of September 2019 (Saturday) 11 am- 12 pm Islamabad GMT +5.00. A Global Trend to Real Time Career Development Since the late parts of the 20th century executives around the world and professionals have been making a shift towards professional qualifications. There are numerous reasons justifying this 'shift': the practical knowledge offered by these programs, their global character, the fact that they certify competency and staying employable through CPDs, and their continuous renewal of their syllabus in order to respond to the needs of corporations and each profession. This is a growing fact, given that the University degree does not necessarily provide differentiation (the term academic inflation) and associations seem to be taking the lead when it comes to employee requirement, advancement and mobility (i.e. CFA, CIA, ACCA, SHRM etc.). Can professional qualifications differentiate professionals and provide the competitive advantage to organizations that embrace them? In an era of academic inflation, it is important to have a way to guarantee competence professionalism and employability skills. Organizations and professionals must adapt fast to change, be practical, and update constantly. Certifications by well known professional bodies can help. Are you certified in your area of expertise? Does your organization have a policy supporting certification training? Are you up-to-date in your area? If you are interested in your own professional development and the development of your people, you need to attend this session. This webinar contains 1 PDC towards SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP Recertification Register for free here .
